Since 1975, the mission of Kazuri is to provide and sustain employment for disadvantaged women in the African country of Kenya. As a member of the World Fair Trade Organization, Kazuri's artisans create five million hand made ceramic beads annually.
The Kazuri work force numbers 400 women and Kazuri beads can be found in 30 countries that it exports to. The beads are beautiful and most of all, they give purpose and confidence to the women who work for Kazuri.
Jewelry designer, Barbara Goldman, uses Kazuri beads to create spectacular looking, one of a kind bracelets and necklaces. On Saturday, July 25th, Barbara will be at Gallery On Madison for a Kazuri Jewelry Trunk Show from 5pm to 7pm. Please, join us for this special event.
